The gardens include a sweeping driveway with Hydrangeas and Specimen Trees; formal planting around the Georgian Manor (not open) a walled garden including pool area with summerhouse, herbaceous borders, kitchen garden, herb garden and potager and woodland gardens with three lakes.

The new owners since 1999 have restored the garden to it the splendour of the 1840s when the Manor and lands were considered a model estate.

Much of the recent planting has an African theme, including Wild Grasses, Restios, Proteas, Cannas, Tree Ferns and many Summer Perennials making Bonython particularly strong in summer.

More than 15,000 deciduous hardwoods have been planted to replace the original shelterbelts for the garden, planted two hundred years ago.
