Bosvigo has 3 acres of intimate gardens surrounding the charming, mainly Georgian house (not open to the public). Bosvigo is not a typical Cornish garden as the emphasis is on herbaceous perennials planted for colour and foliage effect.

The owners, Michael and Wendy Perry, have over the last 20 years developed a series of enchanting enclosed gardens or 'hedged garden rooms' each with their own colour theme.

Unlike many Cornish gardens Bosvigo does not rely on spring flowering shrubs for its colour but on summer-flowering herbaceous plants. In the summer months a dazzling display of ‘The Hot Garden with its yellows, reds and other hot colours contrast with the unusual black and green garden to the rear of the house. The pink and grey garden is especially pretty. The Vean garden has white and yellow flowers, and the walled garden many rare plants. There is also nineteenth century conservatory and a woodland garden

The gardens are planted with well-chosen and unusual plants with subtle mixtures of colour and foliage where the plantsman will find many unusual and rare specimens. The garden specialises in hellebores and pulmonarias.

It is an immaculately kept garden with superb herbaceous borders and beautifully planted enclosures is at its finest in summer when the mainly herbaceous plants start to flower though it keeps going well into the autumn.

Bosvigo Plants is a small specialist nursery attached to the garden. All of the plants sold can be seen growing in the Gardens. The Nursery specialises in rare, unusual and hard-to-find varieties of Herbaceous plants.
